SOCIAL AND ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES
Our club enjoys great camaraderie and fellowship. Members often get together with one another and also gather for potluck or parties, hosted by one or more members of the club, and for special events. These include “Jungle Croquet,” BBQs at a club members ranch, catered winetasting and holiday dinners hosted by one of us. In the last several years many of us have taken Amtrak trips as a group to Reno for a weekend. Additionally, we have attended Giants baseball games and Stanford, Cal and 49ers football games, travelling in rented buses and enjoying snacks and beverages enroute. We also enjoy an annual softball championship pitting the Carmel and Carmel Valley Rotary clubs against the Monterey and Pacific Grove clubs, followed by food and beverage supplied one of the teams, as well as an annual bowling competition between our club and one of the Salinas clubs. These activities have been enjoyable and increased our bonding while allowing us to get to know one another better. The club also puts on a Demotion party each year for the outgoing club president (more like a roast!) with great food, beverages and fun.
